FerrAlert™ HALO PRESCREEN is a highly sensitive patient and personnel screener that detects VERY SMALL ferrous objects down to the size of a typical hairpin. It is up to 25 times more sensitive than our FerrAlert™ HALO ENTRY detector.
The recommended placement for this device is in the patients’ screening or locker-room area, away from the magnet room.
This product helps increase patient throughput and avoid potential misdiagnosis. It is also very useful in screening staff from
other departments who are visiting the MRI area.

OPERATION:

When the GREEN HALO array of READY indicator lights, located in the vertical columns of the portal are illuminated (ON), the system is working.
If a ferromagnetic object is detected, an AUDIO ALARM will sound, the GREEN READY HALO indicator lights will extinguish and AMBER LOCATION indicator lights will illuminate. The location of the ferromagnetic object in the Sensor Portal is indicated by an illumination of the group of amber LEDs closest to the ferromagnetic object. For example, if the top left amber LEDs are activated, the ferromagnetic object is near the left side of the portal at
head level.
